Background

Joined the Chiba New Philharmonic Orchestra upon graduation from the Tokyo College of Music. After half a year, she moved to the Netherlands as a scholarship student. She studied flute and chamber music conducting at the Sverink Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst.

Since 1997, she has organised 20 years of successful cultural exchange concerts between Japan and the Netherlands at the Concertgebouw Hall.

She worked for 27 years at a Japanese language supplementary school in Amsterdam. In 2019, she was awarded the ‘Overseas Diplomat Award’ for friendship and goodwill between Japan and the Netherlands by Ambassador Inomata. Currently, together with contemporary composers, she is developing a fusion performance of dance, art and music in Japan and various European cities.

Career history

Winner of the Grand Prix at the 1994 Yamaha Electone Competition in Japan. 

Graduated from Tokyo College of Music, Department of Composition (Film and Broadcast Music Course). She studied under Shigeaki Saegusa, Kentaro Haneda and Katsuhisa Hattori as well as studied jazz piano under Masahiro Sayama (PONTA BOX). Since her studies, she has been active in various scenes such as songwriting, arranging, recording, TV commercials, game music and ring-tone production. She has worked in a wide range of genres, including classical, jazz, pops, rock and reggae.
